PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Mohawk Tung Oil (Modified) is a proprietary blend of non-break tung oil
and propolymerized alkyd resin in a solvent system.
Recognized as fast drying, hard, resistant to water, acid, alkali and mildew.
One of the most durable of all natural oils. An ideal oil finish for new or stripped wood furniture.
One coat achieves a low luster finish. Each additional coat increases gloss.
Far superior to linseed oil as finished wood will not darken with age.
Tung Oil preserves the natural color of the wood.
Surface scratches in a Tung Oil finish piece can be removed with a small amount of Tung Oil.

Scuff sand between coats with 4/0 steel wool or 320 grit sand paper

DIRECTIONS:
MIX WELL BEFORE USING AND USE IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA.
Sand the raw wood to no higher than 180 grit sandpaper and wipe clean.
Remove sanding dust and debris from surface.
Stain if desired, following manufacturer’s directions and dry time.
Brush or apply by wiping on Tung Oil with a clean cloth.
Keep surface "wet" for at least 15 minutes to insure penetration into wood pores.
Wipe off all excess after a dwell-time of 15 minutes.
Allow 24 hours drying. Repeat with a second coat of Tung Oil.
Scuff sand between coats with 4/0 steel wool or 320 grit sandpaper.
The gloss will increase as more coats are applied.
Rub finish to uniform gloss using 4/0 steel wool when finish is dry (48-72hours).

Drying times and viscosities reported are as tested under laboratory conditions,
(77°F) (25°C) with relative humidity of approximately 45%.
Changes in temperature and humidity will affect product data.
