The phrase “form follows function<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/a>“<\/span> is attributed to:
\nLouis Henry Sullivan (September 3, 1856\u00a0\u2013 April 14, 1924)[1]<\/sup><\/a> was an American architect, and has been called a “father of skyscrapers”[2]<\/sup><\/a> and “father of modernism.”[3]<\/sup><\/a> He was an influential architect of the Chicago School<\/a>, a mentor to Frank Lloyd Wright<\/a>, and an inspiration to the Chicago group of architects who have come to be known as the Prairie School<\/a>. Along with Wright and Henry Hobson Richardson<\/a>, Sullivan is one of “the recognized trinity of American architecture.” The phrase “form follows function<\/a>” is attributed to him<\/p>\n

For Sullivan this was distilled wisdom, an aesthetic credo,
\nthe single “rule that shall permit of no exception.”<\/p>\n
